Apple Cinnamon Cookies (Print-Friendly Version)

Chewy apple-infused cookies with a swirl of cinnamon. Finished with a caramel drizzle and optional flaky salt.

# Ingredients:

→ Cookie Dough

01 - 1/2 teaspoon salt
02 - 1 large egg
03 - 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
04 - 1 teaspoon cinnamon, ground
05 - 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
06 - 2 cups all-purpose flour
07 - 1 teaspoon baking soda
08 - 1/2 cup granulated sugar
09 - 1 cup peeled and diced apples
10 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
11 - 1/2 cup optional chopped nuts

→ Caramel Drizzle

12 - Sprinkle of sea salt (optional)
13 - 1/2 cup caramel sauce

# Steps:

01 - Set your oven to heat up to 350°F (175°C) and lay parchment paper on baking sheets.
02 - Blend together the butter, sugars, and vanilla until the mixture's fluffy. Then mix in the egg.
03 - Stir flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt in another bowl. Slowly incorporate this into the wet mix until everything’s just blended.
04 - Carefully mix in the apple chunks and, if desired, the chopped nuts.
05 - Spoon out rounded tablespoons of the dough onto the parchment-lined sheets, keeping them 2 inches apart. Bake for 12-15 minutes until the cookie edges just start to brown.
06 - Let the cookies sit on baking sheets for 5 minutes to cool slightly. Then put them on a wire rack to finish cooling. Add caramel drizzle and sea salt before enjoying, if you want.

# Notes:

01 - Firm, tart apple varieties hold up great in the dough.
02 - Drizzle the caramel only when you're ready to eat.
03 - Pecans or walnuts are tasty as the optional nuts.
