Sausage Crescent Rolls (Print-Friendly Version)

Flaky crescent dough packed with cheesy sausage filling. Ready fast for any morning meal or snack.

# Ingredients:

→ Base Ingredients

01 - 2 rolls of chilled crescent dough
02 - 1 pound of breakfast sausage (go for pork or turkey, your call)

→ Cheese & Seasonings

03 - 1/4 cup softened cream cheese
04 - 1 full cup of cheddar cheese, shredded (or mix a few kinds)
05 - 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper, freshly ground
06 - 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder for a subtle kick

→ Finishing Touch

07 - 1 whisked egg for a shiny golden crust (add if you like)

# Steps:

01 - Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) to get it nice and hot. Prep your baking tray with parchment or a nonstick mat so nothing sticks.
02 - Throw your sausage into a pan on medium heat and cook it completely. Drain the grease and let it sit till it's not steaming hot anymore.
03 - Mix the cooked sausage together with the cream cheese, shredded cheddar, garlic powder, and black pepper in a bowl. Stir till it's all blended nicely.
04 - Spread out the crescent dough and pull apart the triangles. Scoop a hearty spoonful of filling onto the wide side of each piece, roll them up, then place each one seam-down on your baking tray.
05 - Feeling fancy? Brush the tops with a bit of beaten egg for extra shine and color.
06 - Bake in the oven for about 12-15 minutes, or until they've got that golden brown glow and are fully baked inside.
07 - Serve up these delicious bites nice and warm. They pair perfectly with mustard, ketchup, or a rich breakfast gravy if you're in the mood!

# Notes:

01 - Make them heartier by tossing in some scrambled eggs with the filling!
02 - Turn up the heat by adding spicy sausage or sprinkling in some chili flakes.
03 - Save leftovers in an airtight box in the fridge for 2-3 days. Reheat them in the oven for the best texture when you're ready to eat.
