Turn your oven on to 350°F. Lay out the puff pastry on trays and bake them for 10 minutes till golden. Let cool.

Heat 3 cups of milk on the stove. Mix sugar with egg yolks till creamy, stir in the flour, vanilla, rum, and the leftover milk.

Pour the egg mix into the hot milk and keep stirring till thick. Take it off the heat.

Whisk the egg whites until stiff. Gently mix them into the custard.

Place one sheet of pastry in a baking dish and spread custard over it. Chill it for 1-2 hours.

Layer whipped cream onto the custard, top with cut squares of the remaining pastry. Chill it in the fridge another 2 hours.
