Layered Taco Bake (Print-Friendly Version)

Think of this as a Mexican lasagna, with layers of seasoned meat, beans, tortillas, and cheese all baked into one hearty dish.

# Ingredients:

→ Meat Filling

01 - 1 packet taco seasoning mix
02 - ½ cup water
03 - 1 lb ground beef

→ Main Layers

04 - 1 cup sour cream
05 - 6-8 flour tortillas (8-inch size)
06 - 1 cup fresh salsa
07 - 2 cups shredded Mexican cheese blend
08 - 1 can (16 oz) refried beans

→ Toppings

09 - ¼ cup green onions, diced
10 - ¼ cup black olives, sliced

# Steps:

01 - Set oven to 350°F and coat a 9x13 pan lightly with cooking spray.
02 - Sauté ground beef until browned, drain, then mix in water and taco seasoning. Let it simmer for 5 minutes to thicken.
03 - Spread a layer of refried beans across the dish bottom. Add tortillas on top, trimming edges to fit snugly.
04 - Spoon in half the beef mixture. Add salsa, sour cream, and sprinkle on half the cheese.
05 - Place another layer of tortillas over the mix. Add the rest of the beef, salsa, and finish with the remaining cheese.
06 - Cover tightly with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Take foil off, bake another 5 minutes so the cheese gets melty and golden.
07 - Before serving, scatter green onions and olives on top.

# Notes:

01 - Feel free to cut the tortillas to match your pan.
02 - Works as a fun twist on a lasagna with Mexican flavors.
03 - Change up the toppings to your taste!
