Pepper Steak (Print-Friendly Version)

Marinated beef strips mixed with onions and vibrant bell peppers, all coated in a soy-based sauce for easy comfort food.

# Ingredients:

01 - 1/4 cup water or beef broth.
02 - 1 teaspoon cornstarch.
03 - 1 tablespoon oyster sauce.
04 - 2 tablespoons soy sauce.
05 - 1 green bell pepper, sliced.
06 - 1 red bell pepper, sliced.
07 - 1 teaspoon grated ginger.
08 - 1 onion, sliced.
09 - 2 cloves minced garlic.
10 - 2 tablespoons vegetable oil.
11 - 1 pound thinly sliced beef steak (flank, ribeye, or sirloin).

# Steps:

01 - Combine the cornstarch, oyster sauce, and soy sauce. Toss the beef in this mix and let it sit for at least 15 minutes.
02 - Heat up the oil in a hot pan. Brown the beef for about 1-2 minutes per side and take it out.
03 - Stir-fry the onion and bell peppers for 3-4 minutes. Stir in the ginger and garlic toward the end.
04 - Put the beef back in. Pour in the broth and cook it for a couple of minutes until the sauce thickens up.

# Notes:

01 - Cut the beef opposite the direction of the fibers for a softer texture.
02 - Don’t overcook the veggies—they should stay just crisp.
03 - Tastes best right after cooking.
