Garlic Bread with Cheese & Pesto (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - A single loaf of Italian or French bread.
02 - Half a cup of soft, unsalted butter.
03 - Three cloves of garlic, finely chopped.
04 - Half a cup of basil pesto.
05 - A cup of mozzarella cheese, shredded.
06 - A quarter cup of parmesan cheese, finely grated.
07 - A handful of fresh basil leaves, diced.
08 - Some salt and pepper to season.

# Instructions:

01 - Set your oven to 375°F and get a baking sheet ready by covering it with parchment paper.
02 - Cut the bread in half lengthwise and lay the pieces with the cut side facing upward on the baking sheet.
03 - Combine the soft butter with minced garlic in a bowl. Coat both bread halves with this mixture.
04 - Spread the pesto generously on top of the buttered bread, then sprinkle both mozzarella and parmesan cheese evenly over it.
05 - Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until the cheese bubbles. For a golden finish, leave it under the broiler for a minute or two—but keep an eye on it.
06 - Add a sprinkle of chopped basil on top, cut into slices, and serve the bread nice and warm.

# Notes:

01 - Use a serrated knife to get cleaner, more even slices.
02 - Make sure the toppings cover the bread all the way to the edges.
03 - Keep a close watch while broiling—things can burn quickly.
