Shepherd's Pie Easy (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Meaty Layer

01 - 1 pound of ground lamb or beef, lean
02 - 2 tablespoons of butter, unsalted
03 - 1 onion, medium, diced
04 - 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
05 - 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
06 - 2 tablespoons of tomato concentrate
07 - 1 cup beef stock
08 - 2 cups frozen vegetables, mixed

→ Mashed Potato Top

09 - 3 garlic cloves, peeled
10 - 1/4 cup butter, unsalted
11 - 2.5 pounds Russet potatoes, peeled
12 - 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream

→ Flavorings

13 - 1/2 teaspoon table salt
14 - Ground black pepper, to your taste
15 - 1/2 teaspoon dried Italian herbs

# Instructions:

01 - Heat the oven to 375°F and get a large pot of water boiling for the peeled potatoes.
02 - Brown the beef and onions, mix in seasoning and tomato paste. Stir in flour and stock, then toss in vegetables.
03 - Boil potatoes until soft, then mash with garlic, melted butter, and warm cream.
04 - Spread the meat mixture in a baking dish. Cover it with the mashed potatoes, shaping it with a fork.
05 - Bake for 30 minutes. Broil quickly to get golden tips. Let it sit a bit before you serve.
