02 - 1 lb (450g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
03 - 1 tbsp olive oil
04 - 1/2 tsp garlic powder
05 - Salt and pepper to taste

→ For the Pasta

06 - 12 oz (340g) pasta, such as spaghetti, fettuccine, or linguine
07 - 1/2 tsp salt for boiling water

→ For the Garlic Cream Sauce

08 - 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
09 - 2 tbsp unsalted butter
10 - 4 garlic cloves, finely minced
11 - 1 cup (240ml) heavy cream
12 - 1/2 cup (50g) grated Parmesan
13 - Salt and black pepper to taste
14 - 1 tsp lemon juice

→ For Garnish

15 - Extra Parmesan cheese for topping
16 - 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

# Instructions:

01 - Heat a big pot of water with the salt added and bring it to a boil. Follow the pack directions to cook your pasta until it's firm to the bite. Keep half a cup of the cooking water aside, then drain and leave it to sit for a bit.
02 - In a bowl, coat the shrimp in garlic powder, smoked paprika, and a pinch each of salt and pepper. In a large pan over medium-high heat, warm up the olive oil. Cook shrimp for 2–3 minutes per side until they're pink and just cooked through. Take them off the heat and put them aside.
03 - Throw some butter into the same pan and melt it gently. Toss in the garlic and cook for a minute or two until it smells amazing. Pour in the heavy cream and let it simmer lightly. Add the Parmesan and red pepper flakes (if you like a kick), stirring until the cheese melts in and the sauce thickens. Squeeze in the lemon juice and adjust the taste with salt and pepper.
04 - Add the cooked pasta to your sauce and coat it well by tossing. If the sauce feels too thick, thin it out with a splash of that pasta water you saved earlier. Gently toss the shrimp back in, mixing everything carefully.
05 - Split the pasta onto plates or bowls, sprinkle with parsley, and toss a bit of extra Parmesan on top. Serve right away and enjoy!

# Notes:

01 - For a lighter option, swap the heavy cream with half-and-half.
02 - You can toss in mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, or spinach to add more veggies.
03 - Use gluten-free pasta if you're avoiding gluten.
