Wash the rice until water runs clear. Simmer with water and salt until soft. Cover and let it sit for 10 minutes to finish.

Stir sugar and rice vinegar together, then mix it into the cooked rice.

Spread rice into a parchment-lined 8x8 pan and chill in the fridge for 1 hour until firm.
