Golden Rice Bites (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Base Layer

01 - 1 ¼ cups water
02 - 1 teaspoon salt
03 - 1 cup short-grain rice

→ Flavoring

04 - 2 teaspoons granulated sugar
05 - 1.5 tablespoons vinegar (rice-based)

→ Cooking Oil

06 - ½ cup of olive oil for frying

→ Extras

07 - Sprinkle with furikake or sesame seeds

# Instructions:

01 - Wash the rice until water runs clear. Simmer with water and salt until soft. Cover and let it sit for 10 minutes to finish.
02 - Stir sugar and rice vinegar together, then mix it into the cooked rice.
03 - Spread rice into a parchment-lined 8x8 pan and chill in the fridge for 1 hour until firm.
04 - Slice into squares. Coat the tops with sesame seeds if you'd like.
05 - Heat oil in a skillet. Fry each piece for 3-4 minutes per side until golden and crispy.
