Beef & Potato Bake (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Casserole Base

01 - 1 tbsp olive oil
02 - 1 medium onion, diced
03 - 4–5 medium potatoes, sliced thinly
04 - 1 lb ground beef
05 - ½ cup beef broth
06 - 2 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
07 - ¼ cup milk (optional)

→ Seasonings & Toppings

08 - 1 ½ cups cheddar cheese, shredded
09 - ½ cup Parmesan cheese, grated
10 - 1 tsp Italian herbs
11 - ½ tsp paprika
12 - Salt and pepper, as needed
13 - Fresh parsley for decorating

# Instructions:

01 - Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) and allow it to warm up. Slice the potatoes into ¼-inch rounds.
02 - Warm olive oil in a frying pan on medium. Add garlic and onion, stirring until aromatic. Toss in ground beef, sprinkle with paprika, Italian seasoning, pepper, and salt, and cook it through.
03 - Coat a baking dish lightly with oil and arrange half of the potato slices. Add half of the beef mixture on top. Sprinkle a layer of shredded cheddar cheese. Repeat these steps with the remaining ingredients, then drizzle the broth (and milk if you'd like) all over.
04 - Cover the dish with foil and bake for roughly 35-40 minutes. Remove the foil, scatter Parmesan cheese on top, and bake uncovered for about 10 minutes until it turns a nice golden brown.
05 - Let it cool off for about 5 minutes. Add some parsley for a fresh touch, and dig in!

# Notes:

01 - To make it creamier, throw in extra cheese or add a splash of heavy cream.
02 - Slice potatoes thinly so they cook evenly.
03 - Crank up the heat by sprinkling in red pepper flakes.
