Mint Chocolate Snack Mix (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Base Ingredients

01 - 2 cups powdered sugar, split in half
02 - 6 ounces green candy melts
03 - 6 ounces chocolate chips
04 - 10 cups of Chex cereal, rice or corn

→ Mix-ins

05 - 1 cup of chopped Andes chocolate mints
06 - 1 cup of mint M&M's

# Instructions:

01 - Grab two large microwave-safe bowls, measuring cups, and zip-top bags. Split the 10 cups of cereal into two 5-cup portions and measure out the other ingredients.
02 - Put the chocolate chips in one of the microwave bowls. Heat in the microwave for 15 seconds at a time, stirring after each session until the chocolate is melted and smooth. Don't let it overheat.
03 - Take 5 cups of the cereal and toss them into the melted chocolate. Mix gently to make sure every piece gets evenly covered.
04 - Sprinkle 1 cup of powdered sugar over the chocolate-covered cereal. Mix it well in the bowl or put it all in a zip-top bag, seal the bag, and give it a good shake to coat everything.
05 - Pop the green candy melts into the second microwave-safe bowl. Heat them in short 10-second bursts, giving them a stir each time, until they’re completely melted and smooth. Be careful—they tend to burn quickly!
06 - Add the other 5 cups of cereal into the melted green candy and stir gently until all the cereal pieces are coated evenly.
07 - Dump the green-coated cereal into a clean zip-top bag. Add the other 1 cup of powdered sugar, seal it up, and shake it to coat everything thoroughly.
08 - Put both the chocolate-coated and green candy-coated cereals together into one large zip-top bag or a mixing bowl. If needed, use two smaller bags for easier mixing.
09 - Toss in the mint M&M's and chopped Andes mints. Seal the bag or use your bowl, and mix everything until the candies are evenly spread throughout.
10 - Pop the muddy buddy mix into the fridge for 10 minutes to harden the chocolate and candy coating.
11 - Enjoy the treat right away or store it in an airtight container. It stays good at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.

# Notes:

01 - For a bolder minty kick, mix in ¼ teaspoon of mint extract with the melted chocolate.
02 - Substitute Andes mints with any minty chocolates like peppermint patties or mint chips.
03 - Make it themed for St. Patrick's Day by using green mint M&M's available during the season.
04 - To keep it mess-free, use gloves while mixing or stick to shaking in bags.
