Oreo Chocolate Treats (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Cookie Base

01 - 2 ¾ cups plain flour for baking
02 - 1 tsp salt for seasoning
03 - 1 tsp baking soda
04 - 1 cup soft, unsalted butter
05 - 1 cup tightly packed brown sugar
06 - ½ cup regular white sugar
07 - 1 tsp vanilla extract for flavor
08 - 1 large egg at room temperature
09 - 1 extra egg yolk at room temperature

→ Mix-ins

10 - ¾ cup of Oreo pieces (6 broken cookies)
11 - 1 ½ cups of semi-sweet chocolate chips
12 - ½ cup of finely crushed Oreo crumbs (from 5 blended cookies)

# Instructions:

01 - In a bowl, incorporate together the flour, salt, and baking soda. Blend 5 Oreo cookies into a powdery crumb and measure out ½ cup. Break apart 6 Oreo cookies into smaller pieces.
02 - Whip the butter and sugars in a bowl until they become airy and creamy. Add in the vanilla extract, then mix in the egg and extra yolk until it’s all smooth.
03 - Gradually fold in your dry mix. Stir in the chocolate chips, the Oreo crumbs, and the cookie chunks. Set your dough to chill for around 40 minutes.
04 - Turn the oven to 350°F to preheat. Shape the dough into 3oz balls and place six balls on a baking sheet. Freeze the tray while the oven heats up. Keep the leftover dough chilled in the fridge.
05 - Pop them in the oven for 13 to 15 minutes. Wait until the edges turn golden but the middles still feel soft. Let them sit on the tray for about 4 minutes.
06 - If necessary, shape the cookies using a biscuit cutter. Top with extra crumbs, chocolate chips, and Oreo bits. Let them chill on a cooling rack until firm.

# Notes:
