Beat together the butter, sugar, and vanilla until creamy. Toss in the flour and salt, then mix 'til it forms a dough.

Roll the dough out to a quarter-inch thickness, then use heart-shaped cutters. Chill what you’ve made for 30 minutes.

Pop them in the oven at 170°C for about 10-12 minutes, just until the edges are golden brown. Let cool completely.

Whisk the icing sugar, strawberry puree, butter, and milk into a silky glaze.

Coat one half of each cookie in the glaze. Spread some strawberry jam on the plain cookies, then sandwich them together.
