Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). Coat a 9×13-inch pan with cooking spray or use parchment paper for easier cleanup.

Stir together the yellow cake mix, butter, and egg in a big bowl until the mixture looks crumbly and combined.

Take two-thirds of the crumb mixture and press it firmly into the bottom of your greased pan.

Drizzle the sweetened condensed milk smoothly over the crust, trying not to miss any spots.

Scatter the toffee pieces and chocolate chips evenly over the layer of milk.

Crumble up the rest of the cake mix mixture and scatter it on top.

Pop the pan into the oven and bake for about 25–30 minutes. Look for golden edges with a center that’s slightly soft.

Take it out of the oven and let it cool completely while still in the pan. Once cool, slice into bars.
