Easter Rice Krispie Treats (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Krispie Mixture

01 - 7 cups of crispy rice cereal
02 - 16 ounces marshmallows (mini or jumbo, both do the trick)
03 - 2 tablespoons butter (unsalted)

→ Frosting

04 - 1/4 cup milk
05 - Softened butter, 1/2 cup
06 - A teaspoon of vanilla
07 - Green food dye
08 - About 3-4 cups powdered sugar

→ Toppings

09 - Egg-shaped candies (mini chocolate eggs or jelly beans work great)

# Instructions:

01 - Butter or spray a muffin tin to stop sticking. Then set it aside.
02 - In a microwave-safe bowl, toss the marshmallows and butter together. Heat in the microwave for roughly 2 minutes. Keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn’t spill over as it puffs up.
03 - Blend the melted butter and marshmallows until smooth. Toss in the cereal and stir until it’s all evenly coated.
04 - Scoop the cereal mix into the prepped muffin tin. Using wax paper, press the centers down to form a little nest with sides that are slightly raised.
05 - Set the nests aside until they’re firm enough to pop out, about 30 minutes at room temp.
06 - In a big bowl, beat butter, milk, vanilla, and 2 cups of powdered sugar for 5 minutes, until it’s fluffy. Gradually add more powdered sugar until the frosting is just how you want it.
07 - Mix in green food dye to the frosting until it looks like grass.
08 - After the nests are firm, pipe the green frosting on top with a grass piping tip if you have one. Pop a few egg candies right into the ‘grass.’

# Notes:

01 - Keep these treats fresh by storing them in a sealed container at room temp. They’re good for a day.
02 - Want a more vibrant green? Gel food coloring works better than liquid dye.
03 - No piping bag? A plastic zip bag with the corner snipped works just as well!
